Tag, you're it!

Catherine (my good friend and counterpart in the youth division at work) tagged me in her blog because her daughter (or maybe her daughter-in-law who has the same name) tagged her in her blog. The deal is I have to answer these 8 questions, pick 8 more friends and then have them answer 8 new questions that I come up with.

So .... here goes.  Not sure what will be harder... answering the questions, coming up with new ones, or finding EIGHT friends...

1. What is your favorite vacation spot and why?

Now that is an easy one.. Doesn't matter where I am as long as I am on a cruise ship getting there.  I love little seaside villages-- doesn't matter if they are authentic fishing villages or schmaltzy tourist traps, I still love them.  Two of my favorites are on opposite sides of the continent-- Ketchikan, Alaska and Port Clyde, Maine.  And nothing like a cruise ship to get treated as well as your inner-diva deserves to be treated.

2. What was the last movie you watched in a theater?

Hmm...  it's been a while, nearly 7 hours since I was in a theater, so it's a little hard to remember (being old and all...).  We went to Stadium Cinemas in Payson (my favorite because they serve Pepsi, even though I can't drink it anymore) this afternoon and saw "Life as We Know it".  A little predictable, not entirely original, but still an enjoyable and funny movie.

3. What question do you like to ask people when you first meet them?

"What's your name?"  Bet that nobody else ever thought of that.  Pretty original.  And then I usually ask again at the end of the conversation because if I hear it twice I'm more likely to remember.  Otherwise, two seconds later I've forgotten.  No great meeting/pick up lines but it is always nice to find out about people's families, what they do, where they live, that sort of thing...  And, since I live in Utah, it's always fun when you find out where they live to play the "do you know?" game until you find someone you know in common.  It's almost always possible to do that around here...

4. Who is your hero and why?

Now that is a good question that requires some thought...  My first thought is to name the most important person that I would like to be more like.. That would be Jesus Christ.  But, that's a little scary to admit because  I am so far away from being like that and don't want anyone to think "wow, would never have thought that...".  But, ultimately, he is definitely my hero. I have also had a lot of inspirational family members, friends, mentors, teachers in my life and many of them are also hero-like in my opinion.

5. What do you like to do to relax?

When I'm feeling productive, I like to play around with photography and digital editing.  Fun!  But, when I'm feeling lazy then I sit in front of the TV with my laptop sitting in front of me.  I figure it is multi-tasking if I am doing two things at once and not just wasting time.  I also enjoy going to shows, reading, going out to eat, visiting friends, walking,  driving in the mountains.

6. Who do you enjoy spending time with?

My family and friends.  Kim (a good friend that I met when I moved into the complex), without whom I would likely be pretty bored and lonely. She is easy-going, fun, and always willing to join in when I play cruise director and come up with an idea.  She is also good company on a road trip, traveling, or any other crazy idea we come up with.  I'm also lucky enough to enjoy spending time with the people that I work with-- which is a great blessing since I spend so much time at work.

7. What is the first thing you think of to do when you find out you have some free time?

My first thought is that something must be wrong and that I am missing something or about to miss something.  Kind of like those dreams where you show up somewhere naked or miss a MAJOR deadline and wake up panicked.  If it looks like a whole day (or more) of free time, then I look for someplace to go rather than staying home.

8. What is a Christmas tradition you really enjoy?

My favorite Christmas tradition really is that even though I live in a different state, I have been able to go home for Christmas every year.  My family is wonderful and fun and there have been some years when that is the only time that I have seen my sisters for the whole year.

Whew... now friends to Tag.... I'm trying to think of 8 friends that blog that might actually read this and notice....Tag you're it:

Courtney B--cuz she is such a creative, original person.  Fun to be around.  I love both of her blogs, but especially the one where she posts a new picture every day.
Kristy B-- Also a very creative person.  I look at the projects she does and the recipes and things she tries and really admire her.
Ruby F-- Finds humor and the positive side of anything.  Organized, spiritual, and her kids are just fun to watch.  Plus, she looks a little bit like Jennifer Garner... Can you look up to someone that is probably 20 years younger than you?
Tricia T-- Another person that I admire and look up to and one of the most talented people that I know.  And a lot of fun to be around.  Wish she still lived close because she never ceases to amaze me when I find out some new talent or interest that she has that I never knew about.
Megan K--  Photographer extraordinaire.  Plus, Megan does her own thing and throws herself completely into new projects and ideas.  Super creative and if she has time to answer these questions, I'm curious about what she might say.
Devon S-- My former upstairs neighbor.. whom I miss having as a neighbor.  Love hearing about her little girl who is no longer a baby like she was when they lived here.  Can't wait to hear about the junior version that will be making an appearance soon.
Jennie R-  A friend at work who has an amazing ability to organize and plan things.  Easy to get along with and a huge asset and friend for anyone who works with her.
Sheia K-- I just realized that I have a lot of creative friends.  Strong, beautiful women that are amazing as friends and are truly a blessing in my life.  Sheia is definitely one of these!

Ok, if I missed you-- breathe a sigh of relief--but don't take it personally.  I really tried to pick people that would look at my blog and might see that they have been tagged AND that blog themselves.

So, on to my eight questions....
1.  What is one of the top things on your bucket list of things to do before you die?
2.  When was the last time that you laughed so hard that you cried?  Who were you with and what were you laughing about?
3.  What was your favorite family vacation as a child?
4.  What is the absolutely best and most memorable meal that you have ever had in your life?
5.  If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
6.  What are you a little scared to do, but secretly would still like to try sometime?
7.  What is your all time favorite movie and why?
8.  What do you like to do for fun and relaxation?
