Like my opinion matters... Beach Boys concert

Beach Boys concert
The Beach Boys were the first group that I ever saw in concert... although I won't tell you how many years ago that was.  Endless Summer was also the first album that I ever bought-- not counting the Partridge Family (yep, I was really a Partridge Family fan and knew every song on the albums and collected cards from bubble gum packages) and the other kid records that I had when I was really young.  The album was one of a group that I got for joining Columbia House and I thought I was pretty darn cool to have that many new albums all at once.  See, always edgy and hip... even back then... Just the fact that I am talking about albums and records dates me quite a bit since I know people (adults even) who have never hardly seen an album and barely remember tapes.  Enough about being old though-- happens to just about everybody including a lot of the people that were at the Covey Center for the concert on Thursday night.  Was great to be with them and the Beach Boys can still put on an awesome show!

"Borrowed" a few pictures from a web site since I was sitting WAY in the back of the main floor and the camera on my phone isn't so great at the best of times.  I was really hoping that John Stamos would show up with them as he has two other times when I have seen the Beach Boys,  but sadly, he wasn't there.  Still, even without that little bit of eye-candy (which I was probably sitting too far back to really enjoy anyway), I loved the concert.  All of their songs bring back such memories and are great fun to listen to, tap your feet to, and even get up and dance to.

Songs like "Kokomo", "Surfin' USA", "Be True to your School" are timeless and fun.  Even the young kids in the audience seemed to be enjoying themselves.  And, the concert was the place to be on Thursday.  Multiple "dignitaries" were there, including:  Governor Herbert and his wife, the presidents (and their wives) for both BYU and UVU, the Covey's...  In case you are wondering.  I don't know them and didn't get to hang out with them. I just feel more important because I was in their presence, enjoying the same music for an evening.  Feeling important by association... Pretty cool!
