New Year's Resolutions 2011 (and recap)

I can't remember the last time that I officially made New Years resolutions...  In the back of my mind, there was always the seemingly unattainable goal to lose weight but I had tried so many times and failed that I hadn't even been trying for quite some time.  But, last year (despite not actually having set the goal) I started to make that happen.  Not sure why other than that the stars must have been aligned right.  Here is a before and after picture:

Before
The "before" picture isn't really a true before picture because it was taken in September the day that I had the surgery.  I had already lost 50 pounds by then.  Don't ya just love the baggy clothes, no make-up, blurry picture look?  Please don't call Stacy and Clinton from TLC's "What Not to Wear"...   In my own defense, I WAS having surgery that day.

After

The "after" picture isn't really a true after picture either.  See how I lie in my own blog.  Both pictures are really "during" pictures because I had already started in the first one and  I'm not done yet.  I'm still hoping to lose more.  I would be happy with another 30 pounds and ecstatic with another 50 !  We'll see though because the going is a little slower already.   What a difference a year makes!  I really never thought that I'd be within 50 pounds of a goal weight again... ever...

Thanks for all of my cheerleaders out there.  You'll never know what a difference you have made in this whole process.  And... an extra thanks for your patience as I post pictures and focus on this so much.  I can't remember a time when I didn't cringe every time I looked in a mirror or saw a picture so I might be a little self-absorbed right now.  Thanks for putting up with it-- I'm thinking it won't last forever...

On to goals for 2011...  Still not one to formally make goals, but I did come up with a little chart that shows 4 life areas that I want to do something in every day over the next year.  Little things really, but doing something every day from each of the quadrants would help me to live the way that I want to live. Good luck to me and to everyone with their New Year's Resolutions.  Have a great 2011 !

  1. LISA! I am truly so excited for you! And take as long as you want to be self absorbed - it's totally part of the process, I'd say. And you look fantastic and beautiful. I love it. I am so glad we met and got to get to know each other! You are inspiring in so many ways! So, thanks. And happy new year!

  2. I love the idea of the chart, I can't think of any goals maybe I should copy your idea. I've noticed that you have lost a lot of weight but I didn't realize just how much it was until I saw you surgery day picture. You are doing awesome!

  3. You look fabulous Lisa. I wish I were at the 'during stage" and not at the "Who know's when I'll begin stage". You have every right to talk about you in YOUR blog. I love reading it, and seeing everything you post. You are a great inspiration to me. Let's get together soon!
