Bryce Canyon

We ate lunch at Zine, an Asian restaurant, at the Palazzo and ordered honey walnut prawns-- very good, but pretty expensive too.  After eating, we were able to quickly (after 3 times it should be quick... we know our way around now...) find our way back to the car and took off for Bryce Canyon.  Instead of using the map I printed out, we used the GPS on my phone again.  Worked like a charm to get us to I-15 and tell us to head north for 200 miles (like we didn't know that much), but then it didn't work in the canyons when we really needed it.  I didn't feel too lost really, but it was nice to finally see a sign saying that we were heading in the right direction.  We ended up driving thru Red Canyon right at sunset and it was awesome!  Even saw 3 elk crossing the road which was pretty cool.  Didn't stop though because we just wanted to get to Ruby's Inn... but then went back the next night to take pictures.

After checking in, we went to the room to unload before heading to the restaurant for dinner.  Should have done it the other way around because a tour bus must have arrived and the line was LONG.  Went to a fast food restaurant instead and the food was not good at all.  Next morning, we went to see Bryce Canyon which was beautiful.  Our plan was to scout out some really beautiful places and then come back closer to sunset when the lighting was better to take pictures.

Loved all of the colors and it wasn't too crowded which was really nice. We saw ravens and deer and a few chipmunks at the viewpoints.  We spent the afternoon in the room watching TV and uploading pictures but then went back at about 4:30 to take pictures at Inspiration Point and Sunset Point.  Didn't think about the fact that the light from the setting sun wouldn't necessarily go down into the canyon because of the steepness, but the colors weren't as washed out as earlier in the day.  Still really beautiful!

On Sunday morning, we checked out and decided to go to Tropic for breakfast because neither of us thought the food at the motel was very good.  Stopped at a place called Clark's, right on Main Street in Tropic (like there is anything there besides Main Street) and it was the cutest restaurant with the best food!
