Getting started!
In case I didn't have enough to do.. all of a sudden blogging sounds like a good idea. Don't know if that comes from seeing friend's blogs, seeing the movie "Julie and Julia" (which is a good movie but about 30 minutes too long), or reading the book the movie came from (in this case the movie is WAY better than the book). Or maybe its just a desire to use my time more productively than I have been. My current theory is that if the laptop is set up in front of the TV, then I can watch tv AND play on the computer at the same time-- multi tasking, which sounds much more productive than doing either of those things alone. Especially since Facebook sucks up a lot of time by itself. So easy to get caught up in playing games (Farmville, Farmtown, Roller Coaster Kingdom, Castle Age.. you name it..). Funny thing is that the games aren't really all that exciting or fun--there's just that competitive thing to get the most stuff or get to the highest level. Some days I come home knowing that there are large harvests to take care of on the farming games and feeling like there is real work to do. It's probably a good thing that I'm not a farmer in real life if clicking a button to harvest a crop sounds like work.
My current "obsession", other than working and multi-tasking, is photography. After my last trip to Alaska I bought a new camera and I'm having a great time playing around with it. Signed up for an on-line nature photography class and so each week I have assignments to take pictures of flowers/trees, water, landscapes, etc. I've been learning a lot and MOSTLY submitting new pictures and not ones that I took prior to the class... New obsessions are so fun, but why do they always involve shopping?
Just for fun, I'm going to try and post some pictures here to see how it works:

It worked! Saw this balloon earlier last week on the way to work and wished I had my camera with me. Later in the week, I did have an older camera in the trunk and stopped to get the picture. Made me late for work, but I got the shot!
