Pink Suede Shoes!

Pink suede shoes
Stay tuned for the most shallow post ever...

Got these new shoes today, after sending two sizes of another style back to Zappo's last week (gotta love Zappo's), and I LOVE them!  I'm going to go on the record and say that everybody needs a pair of pink suede shoes (except maybe any guys that could read this...although I don't discriminate so if you like them, wear them too!).  Was planning on wearing them to the game tonight, but it was too cold and windy so we didn't go.  Have to show them off somehow since they really aren't the type that I can wear to work and just looking at them makes me happy.  Plus, they have to be the ultimate in practicality (ok, not so much)....

And, since I shared the most shallow thing ever... I will try to redeem myself by also posting my absolute favorite painting ever.  See, I don't just shop-- we went to the art museum only last week!  I love the way that this woman looks here-- kind of resolute and purposeful, but also like she has a strong vision of the future.  I can picture her standing on a beach or a wide open field looking into the wind and ready to face whatever comes her way.   Just breathtaking!

I feel stronger when I see this picture-- not in an "I am Woman, Hear me Roar" kind of a way, but in a very quiet way.

I used to drop by the BYU Museum of Art periodically just to see this painting.  I love when I get an emotional response to a piece of music or artwork.  The painting has been taken down now so I was glad to get a postcard at the gift store so I can look at it whenever I want to at home.

  1. I love that picture, too. And I love that you pointed out how you feel stronger NOT in an "I am woman, here me roar" way. I am happier when I'm not in that "hear me roar" mode, yet still feeling strong.

    Awesome shoes, too!

I'm still thinking about getting together--I've been focused on cleaning, though, so give me a few more weeks!!

  2. I am so sorry to hear that they took it down. I too would go to the Museum just to see that painting. I love it. What a special thing that there were many of us drawing strength from it. I think it helped shape my dreams to be a strong graceful good woman(who lives in the country). Thanks for the reminder, Lisa.
