The Real Before Picture!

I've always liked this painting at the Art Museum--not sure why though... And for the life of me, I can't remember ever having worn this dress or modeled for this picture.  Ha Ha.  Not sure how they got it!  Makes me wonder sometimes how some paintings become famous enough to survive the years and others don't.  In case you are wondering, this isn't me!  Bet you know that already.

Went to the doctor a few weeks ago to have my band adjusted and they gave me this picture that was taken the first time I went in there (probably in late July or early August).  Notice the pointed toe, one foot in front of the other.  Something I learned from a cruise ship photographer who said that it would help you look slimmer.  I don't know about that, but I tend to do it anyway because how can it hurt?  So, this is the SLIMMER before picture of me...    I've thought about putting it on my refrigerator to help with motivation and maybe I will.

After getting my band adjusted this last time, I really had a lot of problems with keeping down anything... A fleeting thought was that this could be a good thing, but after ongoing reflection I realized that this is called an eating disorder.  Not that I don't already have one of those but this would make things much worse.  Plus my hair has been thinning a LOT which is likely due to not getting enough protein.  I've always had plenty of hair though so right now it is just about right--more manageable than usual even... but I don't want it to keep falling out.

So, I bit the bullet and made an emergency appointment with the doctor last week.  The PA drained just a little bit from the band and it has made all the difference in the world!  I can eat and keep things down and I'm still not getting hungry between meals which is awesome.  And... the best part of all, I dropped a few pounds since Wednesday which is peculiar to eat a bit more and lose weight.  A little counter-intuitive.  That's sort of the pattern now though--plateau for a week or more at the same weight but then drop about 5 and then do it again.  Works for me...
