In case you haven't experienced it (and I hope you haven't and don't), hospitals are very boring. Luckily there are some markers that time is actually passing--meals, constant taking of vital signs, iv's. It is easy to just try and sleep all day to help time pass. Thank goodness for visitors,FB messages, phone calls, and emails! They all help a ton, so thank you.
My parents drove out on Thursday and so both of them and Kim are up here every day, and most of every day. Love that....although I'm not exactly the life of the party so they help entertain each other. I just like the company, especially when doing the really exciting stuff like walking the halls. :)
Doctor said he would stop the Heparin shot (which they give you right in the stomach and it burns)if I would walk around the halls, at least six laps a day. Since I was already doing that, seemed like a great deal to make. Have four laps in this morning and it isn't even breakfast time. Well, it is breakfast time but it hasn't come yet.
I'm feeling better today and really hoping to go home... Yea, breakfast just walked in the door!

I know what you mean about hospitals!! I think the worst was at night all the vitals checks and taking blood at 4:30 am! Funny how laps in the halls can be a highlight and make you feel productive, right? Thanks for opening up and sharing what you have been going through.Sure hope u are able to come home soon. Kim is such a good friend to you!
ReplyDeleteLisa, I am glad your parents are able to be there with you! I hope they are able to control themselves and don't jump you while you are eating that gourmet hospital food you are served--everyone knows that is why hospital food is famous....oh wait, they're not famous for that? Well, in that case, I hope you can hurry and get out of there!!! Love ya, Maria
