No, not THAT Little America with the 754 gas pumps!! Not that it wouldn't have been festive to drive to Wyoming for the holiday...
But, this Little America which is a very nice hotel in Salt Lake. The Thanksgiving Dinner is held in the ballroom which has just been redone and is beautiful. Our group was one of the first in line and we were seated and enjoying a wonderful dinner by 11:00 am-- more like a brunch.
I only got pictures of the dessert tables... by the time I thought about taking pictures there were too many other people around. Besides, these look pretty good, don't they? Should have started with the desserts! Everything else was wonderful too-- my favorite this year (and not a typical Thanksgiving item at all) was a blueberry muffin. Yum! Definitely a 5 star ***** event. So, back to things to be thankful for...
- my family
- my belief and faith in a Heavenly Father that loves me
- friends
- a job that I enjoy
- a job that I find challenging
- a job that contributes to a "greater good" than just myself
- Opportunities to help others
- a comfortable lifestyle
- being able to meet all of my needs and many of my wants
- opportunities I have had and continue to have
- a sense of humor, and for the sense of humor that others have that "get me" (which they probably need!)
- hope for a good future
- an incredibly beautiful world to live in
- optimism
- Self expression thru photography and music
- chances to learn just about anything that I want to
- Travel and seeing new things.. or seeing the same things in new ways
- happiness and joy
- four day weekends
- shopping online and not having to fight the Black Friday crowds
- only 3 weeks until I am on vacation
- the Christmas season and all the traditions and feelings that are part of the season-- and the Christmas carols and twinkling lights
