My life as a pop star...

My life as a pop star... ended before it even began as my adventures with Wii continue.  I was so excited to get the new Band Hero last week, had it delivered at work and rushed it home, seemed like I was making progress at setting it up-- but it didn't work.  At least, the guitar didn't work.  Tried everything I could think of although I wasn't sure if the problem was me or bad directions.  Started setting the drums up (which was easier than I thought) and then realized that my condo is small and the drums are pretty big!  Never occurred to me that storage was going to be a problem unless I was ok with having drums be the focal point of my living room... And, I'm really not ok with that at all.  Doesn't happen very often but I actually started to have buyers remorse about the whole purchase.  Having the guitar not work didn't help and I didn't really try to play the drums.  I did plug the remote into them though and realized the connection was so tight that I didn't think I could get it apart without breaking the remote. Tested how tight the connection was twice before I was convinced that using a vice grip (not sure that's really the name of the tool, but it sounds good) to disconnect the remote wasn't very convenient and wouldn't prolong the life of the remote either.

By the next day, I had made the decision to ship the whole thing back but was NOT looking forward to trying to fit it all back into a small box and then I found that I would only get a partial refund anyway since the box was open (and pretty much destroyed).  As I was talking with a friend at work, she mentioned that they had working guitars at home and would love to have a drum set and the play list from the game.  So, a simple solution was born.  I decided to sell it to her at a great price as long as she picked it up and I didn't need to repack anything.  Lost a little money on the deal-- well, quite a bit of money... but I learned something:

"People who live in small condos shouldn't buy big toys".

At least not without thinking thru where you might put them. And, even though I might have lost some money on the deal, it will cost less than having to buy a bigger home to store more toys in.  My neighbors probably don't even know how relieved they should be that the game didn't work and that I didn't have people playing it all night...  So much for being a pop star!

Now a digital piano... that might be really fun to have...  Too bad I watched Suze Orman on TV tonight so my life as a personal economic stimulas package is probably over too... Suze is no fun!  Bet no one invites her to go shopping with them....
