My dreams and Tim Burton...

The doctor said that I might dream more while using the CPAP since I should be reaching deeper levels of sleep... and she was right... I can't believe how much better I sleep, sometimes even clear thru the night.  I know that sleeping thru the night is more of a goal for a 3 month old.. but I'm thrilled that I'm not waking up as much. It may help that my cats are afraid of it and sleep at the foot of my bed now rather than curled up practically in my mouth.

My question though is why my dreams have such a Tim Burton "Nightmare before Christmas" quality to them?  Some of you may have been thinking that I was dreaming about Tim Burton but I don't think I would recognize him in a dream even if he was there or post about it if I was....  The first dream I remember though was right after I got back from Disney World and I dreamed that I was there again.. But this time it wasn't the happiest place on earth.  We were taking Disney transportation from a hotel to the theme park, only instead of nice buses it was a crowded, rickety old train.  And then it broke down right before going over an old trestle bridge and there were about a million people milling about in an old train station-- and not very happy people either as you might imagine.  We could see the Magic Kingdom but we couldn't get there... We were looking at maps and trying to plot an alternative way to get there but nothing was working.  We were running out of time and all of the options to get there would take too long.  The buildings and people were of the surreal, really dark kind, just like the movie.  Very weird, and then I woke up.

This morning I was dreaming that I had a choice of eating a piece of the world's best looking cake or a wonderful looking cupcake.  Before I could decide, I woke up...  Very disappointing, although I doubt that either choice would be considered to be the "breakfast of champions".  My breakfast of cream of wheat/banana didn't quite measure up; although, it didn't put me into a sugar coma either.

Anyway, there have been other dreams but I doubt that anyone reading this really cares to hear more.  The question is, where are these dreams coming from?  I'm ready to have some happy dreams!

  1. No, the true question is "where is the piece of cake or the cupcake, and how can I get it"?
